Description
Mixed grit is an essential part of a Chicken’s diet as they require a high level of calcium. Egg shells will become thin and brittle without a sufficient level of calcium. Even if the shells are healthy, extra grit in the diet will not harm the birds.
The 25kg Mixed Poultry Grit consists of both soluble and insoluble grit mixed in suitable proportions.
Soluble soft calcium grit which is absorbed into the bird’s system, making it healthy and ensuring strong shelled eggs and contributing to the well-being of the bird.
Insoluble hard grit which has grinding action in the gizzard, aiding the grinding up of food and ensuring the bird is able to digest food properly. Hens do not have any teeth so this is especially important.
