Description
Safflower seeds are high in protein and provide essential oils that wild birds rely on to stay healthy. There is also a chance that providing safflower seed in a feeder or on a bird table will deter some larger undesirable birds from eating all of the food provided.
It may take your garden birds a little while to become used to safflower seeds, especially if you are using them as a replacement for sunflower hearts. This is because safflower seeds do not come de-husked and will take a little bit more time and effort from your birds if they want to eat them.
